More on the difference in toner vs ink.
How to find the right cartridge
- Read the model number on the front or top of the printer, not the box.
- Or read the code printed on the old cartridge or toner kit, such as 12A, 88A, 337 or TK-1177.
- Send either on WhatsApp and we will confirm stock before you travel.

- Laser vs inkjet printer: which should you buy?Choose a laser printer for fast, sharp black text and steady office volume; it uses toner, which does not dry out. Choose an inkjet, and specifically an ink tank model, for low-cost colour and photos at home or in a small office; it refills from bottles but needs regular use to keep the print head clear. Cartridge inkjets are cheapest to buy but most expensive per page.
- Toner vs ink: what is the difference?Toner is a dry powder used by laser printers and photocopiers; heat fuses it onto paper. Ink is a liquid used by inkjet and ink tank printers; it is sprayed onto paper and dries. Toner yields more pages per cartridge and does not dry out, while ink gives better photos and cheaper colour on ink tank printers. They are not interchangeable.
- How can businesses reduce printing costs? To reduce office printing costs, measure what you print, then cut the waste: set duplex and black-and-white as defaults, scan instead of copying, consolidate many small printers into fewer efficient machines, choose consumables with a low cost per page, track use by department, and maintain machines so they do not fail and waste paper. The biggest savings usually come from right-sizing equipment and changing defaults.
- Why is my printer printing blank pages?A printer prints blank pages most often because it is out of ink or toner, a new cartridge still has its protective tape or seal, the print head is clogged (common on inkjets left unused), or the toner cartridge or drum is not seated properly. Less often, the document itself is blank, the wrong driver is selected, or a hardware part such as the transfer roller has failed.
- Why does my photocopier produce faded copies?Faded or light copies are usually caused by low toner, a density or toner-save setting, a worn drum, a dirty scanner glass or optics, or damp paper. A simple test tells you where to look: if printed pages from a computer are fine but copies are faded, the problem is on the scanner side; if both are faded, it is in the print engine (toner, drum, transfer).
